Role Summary

You will act as the first‑point‑of‑contact for customers, generate interest, qualify leads, and close sales over phone/WhatsApp/email for Spectralab’s range of lab instruments priced mainly under ₹1 lakh. Your performance will directly contribute to achieving a clear revenue target (e.g., 1 crore per year across the team with an average ticket of ~₹70,000).indiamart+2

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead calling & follow‑up
  2. Make daily outbound calls to prospects from website enquiries, IndiaMART leads, and compiled lab lists (pharma QC, water‑testing, chemical, academic, etc.).indiamart+1
  3. Follow‑up with existing customers for product upgrades, repeat orders, and cross‑sales (e.g., COD digester → turbidity meter, pH meter → conductivity meter).
  4. Product promotion & qualification
  5. Introduce Spectralab instruments (COD digester, pH meter, conductivity/TDS meter, turbidity meter, friability tester, hardness tester) and explain basic applications in simple language.indiamart+3
  6. Identify customer needs (lab size, budget, existing instruments) and qualify leads for demos and quotes.
  7. Demo & quote coordination
  8. Schedule virtual demos (WhatsApp/Zoom) or local demos with the service/applications team in the lab.
  9. Assist in preparing quotations and sending catalogues/proposals; coordinate with technical and sales managers for pricing and offers.
  10. Closing & after‑sales
  11. Close orders over phone/WhatsApp by addressing objections, offering suitable bundles, and explaining offers/warranty/service.indiamart+1
  12. Hand over closed orders to the Order Processing team and join post‑delivery follow‑up calls when needed.
  13. CRM & reporting
  14. Maintain accurate records in CRM (calls, follow‑ups, status, reasons of rejection).
  15. Achieve daily/weekly targets such as calls per day, demos scheduled, and orders closed.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  1. Education
  2. 12th pass or Diploma level;
  3. Experience
  4. 0–3 years in telecalling, BPO, or inside‑sales (preferably in instruments, lab equipment, pharma, or industrial products).
  5. Language & communication
  6. Excellent spoken and written English; working knowledge of Hindi and Marathi is strongly preferred.
  7. Behavioral skills
  8. Comfort with cold calling, confident in handling objections, and persistent in follow‑up.
  9. Ability to understand basic technical product features (e.g., pH meter, COD digester, tablet hardness tester) and explain them in simple language.indiamart+3

Training & Learning

  1. Initial 2–3 days of product and application training on Spectralab instruments (COD digester, pH meter, conductivity/TDS meter, turbidity meter, friability/hardness testers).scispectrum+3
  2. Ongoing refresher sessions with the applications/service team to stay updated on new models, pricing, and common customer queries.
  3. Weekly coaching on soft skills: objection handling, upselling, and closing techniques.

Performance Metrics

  1. Primary KPIs:
  2. Number of calls/day.
  3. Number of qualified leads per week.
  4. Demos scheduled per month.
  5. Orders closed per month (target linked to team‑level revenue goal).
  6. Quality parameters:
  7. Professionalism on call, clarity of product information, and prompt follow‑up.
